object description
This all over print, limited-edition puffer coat features imagery directly pulled from Kehinde Wiley’s painting, Kern Alexander Study. Luxuriously crafted with warmth, comfort and durability in mind, the exterior shell is sublimated poly, insulated with recycled polyester from Primaloft Black Label. Cut and sewn in LA.
Reimagined and redesigned specifically for this exclusive puffer coat, Wiley’s Kern Alexander Study (2011) creates a dynamic and playful exchange between artist, model and wearer. Through a contemporary conversation about adornment and diversity, the design wraps around the entire garment and features unique and stylized multi-cultural textile patterns which beautifully support the vibrant portrait that decorates the back of the coat.
Proceeds from your purchase support the artist in residence program Black Rock Sénégal, founded by Wiley in 2019.
